Description You are bidding on an Antique Elgin Pocket Watch. It is a 16s Railroad style Grade 616 watch which dates to 1954 according to the serial number engraved on the clean 17J movement, #I-38107. The stem wind, pendant set movement is adjusted for heat, cold, isochronism, & 3 positions. Please refer to the pictures as they are part of the description. The watch runs very strong, but I cannot guarantee it for accuracy. It runs for over 50 hours per wind, but I would still certainly recommend a full oiling and servicing by a professional jeweler if you'd like to use the watch as a reliable timekeeper every day. The face is in very fine condition, with virtually no crazing lines visible. The acrylic crystal is in good condition with hardly a scratch, as is the original gold-filled Star case. The open-faced case, serial #'d S-715821,  also has a pretty neat engraved pattern on the edges. There is some surface brassing to the edges of the engraved pattern on the back of the case, surely something to be expected after 50 years of handling. The watch comes with the married gold-toned chain attached which measures over 15 inches in length. The chain is not marked as to whether or not it is gold or gold filled, but it has shined up as nice as the case. The chain and watch both look much better in person than in the pictures.
