Description First of all I would like everyone viewing this auction to know that I know absolutely nothing about old pocket watches. I have had this watch for many years but had completely forgotten about it until recently finding it in a box. I will do my best to describe it as accurately as possible. It is an Elgin watch as you can obviously see in the photos. I wouldn't describe it as gold. Possibly silver, or as I have seen on other auctions, Silveroid? If you are veiwing this then you likely know more about it than I do.  It works. I wound the watch and it has been keeping excellent time all week. Looking inside at the movement there is a small arm that indicates to me that it is adjustable. Elgin Nat'l Watch Co., USA is stamped on it as is a serial number: 23226569. It looks to be in excellent condition in there. Stamped in the center of the inside back cover, in a circle, is: FAHYS  ONESILVER  No.1, and in the very center is Pat. Feb. 19th 1884. Below that is a serial number: 6524197 The overall condition is very good. The face is very nice but the glass has some minor scratches which you can see if you hold it at an angle to a light source. The case shows some wear but nothing glaringly bad. Perhaps it could be polished up nice but I have been told to leave it alone, that most collectors prefer them to be original and untouched. It measures 2 3/16" in diameter and is about 5/8" thick overall. Even if you are not interested in bidding, if you can tell me more about it please feel free to do so. Thank you for looking.
