It was made for and sent to America. The case has the Eagle assay mark for America and 18K gold. The case is also stamped with “A C Benedit, Bowery, NY”, which were the importers and retailers. The watch comes with its original gilt advertising key also signed “Benedict Bros, 171 Broadway”   The watch has been cleaned and serviced and keeps superb time   The watch comes with a luxury wooden gift box.   Movement – the gilt full plate fusee movement has a watch cock decorated with embossed flowers and which features a large diamond endstone with a blue steel setting. The movement also features a gold balance wheel and a stop start lever. The part which actually stops the movement has been removed. The movement is signed “R & G Beesley, Liverpool” 14085 and is in pristine mint condition. The movement also has its original gilt dust cap, which is also in pristine mint condition.   Case – the movement comes in a beautiful 18K gold open face case, which has a hinged back and bezel and where the movement swings out from the front. The inner cover is decorated with elaborate engraving and engine turning. The case is then decorated with carved edges and engine turning and has 1844 engraved onto the back cover. The case is in pristine mint condition – again just as with the movement, the case shows no signs of wear at all.   Dial – the solid 18K gold dial has raised numbers and is decorated with a scene of a lady on a horse back.
